ATHLETICS - IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION
PHYSICAL HEALTH FORM UPDATE
As of the 2012-2013 school year, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) is joining with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and will be changing the Physical Health Form requirement to participate in athletics.
To insure safety for all, students must pass and have on file a current yearly physical examination prior to participation at the start of each season. The physical is good for 13 months from that date and must be renewed prior to, or on, the date it expires to maintain eligibility.
If there is no current physical health form on file after 13 months, your child will lose eligibility and will have to stop playing until a new physical is on file.
For example, if your child’s physical expires in the middle of the season, ie: Sept. 28th, then your child will sit out all games and practices until a current/updated physical form is on file.
Please look ahead to when your child's physical is due and plan around the date so that there will be no interruption in the status of your child’s eligibility. We can not make any exceptions.
