All Austin students, faculty, family and friends, are invited to the annual Spring 
Concert, "In Love and War." Austin Chorus, Austinato Band and the student winners of the
2013 "Austin's Got Talent" competition will present an evening of music next Thursday,
May 23, at 7:00PM in the MPF. Highlights include choral arrangements of "Some Nights" and
"Payphone," a medley from Stephen Sondheim's "Sweeney Todd," and works from the American
Civil War era. Admission is free and open to the public. Come and support our supremely
talented student musicians!

Attention Creativity Zone members: All clay sculptures that are on the shelf in Ms. Foley's room, should be claimed and removed this week. Clay pieces left after Friday will be thrown away.

Adults and students (grade 8 and older) are invited to attend the event, Teen Dating Violence, tomorrow, May 22, at the Reading Memorial High School Performing Arts Center. The documentary, Love You to Death, about abusive relationships will be shown. Following the documentary there will be a panel of professional speakers on this topic. Admission is free. The event is sponsored by Reading Girl Scout Troop 73734.

There will be a meeting for boys interested in basketball tomorrow, May 23 in the Gathering Room. Coach Busby will be in attendance.

Spring Sports Awards Night will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 6:30 PM in the MPF. All spring athletes are encouraged to attend.

Taylor Swift raffle tickets will be on sale for ALL grades during lunches today and tomorrow.

There are no more available parking spaces on campus until May 30, which is the last day seniors will be on campus during the school day. If there are any underclassmen who would like a space from May 30-June 7, please see Ms. Winn in the Main Office to arrange for a space.

The newly elected 2013-2014 School-wide Student Council is sponsoring “Boston Strong Day,” at Austin on Friday, May 24th. All Austin students will be able to wear blue and yellow or any official Boston Strong attire. The suggested minimum contribution, which will be donated to the Boston One Fund, will be $5, but students, faculty, and staff will be encouraged to donate more if their means allow. Collections will take place on Thursday, May 23 during all lunches and during homeroom on Friday, May 24.

An Austin family has donated two excellent tickets to the July 26, 6:30PM Taylor Swift show at Gillette Stadium. The seats are near the stage. We are raffling off the tickets and we will sell only 100 tickets at $10 each, and the proceeds will be put toward the Inner City Scholarship Fund. The first phase of the sales will be for seniors only. Seniors will be able to buy tickets during lunch today and all next week and on Tuesday, May 28 during Field Day from Ms. Chamberland. Beginning Wednesday, May 29 tickets will go on sale for students in Grades 6-11 on a first come, first serve basis. Please support the Inner City Scholarship Fund and buy a raffle ticket for a chance to see Taylor Swift!

Today, several of our athletic teams will honor their seniors. The teams are boys lacrosse, boys baseball and girls tennis. Come to the fields to celebrate with them.

Do you have any gently used clothing or items for men, women, children and infants that you no longer need? If so, bring them in bags to Ms. Vacanti’s office by Tuesday, June 4. These items will be brought to the Dominican Republic this summer by sophomores Darina DeBenedictis and Giulia Ensing. Be creative. An entire family in the Dominican Republic can appreciate the smallest items that no longer serve a purpose to you. So please help bring smiles to those who are less fortunate and donate to this cause.
