Registration for Athletics
Austin Prep Family and Athletics Registration
Austin Prep uses FamilyID, which is an online secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our programs, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible. When you register through FamilyID, you enter your information once for multiple uses, multiple students and multiple programs. This is a free service.
There are two sections that that have to be completed.
Section 1: contact information for ALL Students: This section needs to be completed for all enrolled students, regardless of their desire to play sports. It contains parent contact information, emergency forms for field trips, retreats and athletics. Also included are the state’s Bullying and Hazing policies and ImPact testing consent. We request that all students have an ImPact consent form signed in advance, since not all concussions occur on the athletic fields or under our care. Before you register, be sure to have the doctor’s information and health insurance information on hand. Returning families, your information from last year is still online, please update as necessary. Please check for accuracy emails, phone numbers and graduation/grade.
Section 2: Fall 2014 Athletics Registration: Opens June 1st thru August 17th
Before starting registration, please go to http://www.nfhslearn.com/electivedetail.aspx?courseID=38000 and complete the online concussion education course. To finish registration for athletics, students must have a current physical on file with Mrs. Ann-Marie Baccari, the school nurse. Once registration and physical is set, the student will receive a ‘Yellow Card’ which they need to give to their coach at the first practice. The Yellow Card is verification to the coach that the athletic is all set to compete.

Austin Prep boasts a competitive and accomplished athletic program. As an all boy’s school in the 70’s and early 80’s Austin competed in the Merrimack Valley Conference and then the prestigious Catholic Conference. With the addition of the Middle School program a built in feeder system was established for the program. The coming of co-education at Austin served to enhance and deepen our sports programs with the addition of young women athletes and introduced co-ed athletic teams at Austin. We have much to celebrate, in terms of our athletic programs. Our athletic teams are some of the regions most accomplished and competitive. At Austin we seek student athletes, combining both strength and skills on the playing fields and in the classrooms.
Austin Prep is a member of the Catholic Central League, in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. Some of our more spirited rivalries include; Bishop Fenwick, Arlington Catholic, Archbishop Williams and St. Mary’s as well as some much larger schools in the area including St. John’s Prep and Central Catholic High School.
Austin Prep’s Athletic Mission: As an institution that strives to fully develop each student’s potential, we realize the importance of fair play and honest and respectful competition. We believe that a sound interscholastic athletic program provides the participant with physical, mental, moral, emotional and social benefits.
The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association
The M.I.A.A. is a governing body for all athletic teams sponsored by member schools. Austin Preparatory School is a member of, and in good standing with, the M.I.A.A. With this membership, the Headmaster, in conjunction with the Athletic Director, is committed to ensuring that all coaches and teams abide by all rules, regulations, and decisions of the M.I.A.A.
The Catholic Central League
Austin Preparatory School has been a proud member of the Catholic Central League for many years. This League is governed by the rules of the M.I.A.A and its own League constitution as set by the schools’ Head of School and Athletic Directors.
Student/Parent Athletic Handbook
This handbook has been especially prepared for parents and students, and contains a wealth of information intended to facilitate and encourage a happy and productive year. Students and their parents should read this handbook for everyon' mutual benefit.
Austin Prep's Athletic Department requires that the Certification Sheet on page two, be signed by both parent and athlete, stating that they have read and understand the regulations contained within the handbook.
